Charleston Neighborhood Search with Map
May be the first of its kind (at least from what We've seen)
- Standard listings search (by neighborhood) http://www.charlestonrealestateguide.com/neighborhood-listings.php basicaly this is the listings search adapted to use the nieghborhoods database instead. This will provide the most comprehensive way to find property if you already have an idea of what and where you are looking. Not all properties are able to geo-locate, so this makes sure you aren't missing out.
- Map: advanced neighborhood map search (more search options) http://www.charlestonrealestateguide.com/neighborhoods_map.php this is the standard listings search with mapped results using the new neighborhoods database. best used for narrowing the search down as much as possible while maintaining map functionality. lets you specify schools etc.

- Map: full screen neighborhood map search http://www.charlestonrealestateguide.com/neighborhoods.php best suited for someone just getting started (concerned with location) but also suited for the informed local searcher who knows exactly where they want to be. You are able to minimize all search items to get a real full-screen / birds eye view as if you were flying over charleston in a blimp. A lot of fun while zoomed in close using the satelite map overlay. Also great for water lovers and boaters who know their way around the inland waterways.
The map searches allow you to move in and out of neighborhood and individual homes mode.
By clicking "map homes" from the neighborhoods popup, the search switches the visible map listings from neighborhoods to homes within the selected neighborhood. While in this mode you will only be able to see listings in that neighborhood. If you want to view the listing details for all of the homes in that neighborhood, you can click the "OPEN LISTINGS" button above the neighborhood summary box in the top left corner of the map. This will open a new window with the standard listings search results page set to show this neighborhood's listings.
You have to click the "BACK TO SEARCH" button in order to return to neighborhood listings mode. This button should be blinking and will be found above the neighborhood summary box at the top left of the corner of the map.
We would really appreciate some feedback on these new searches. If you have suggestions, love it, hate it, or want to report a bug, please contact me through the site or call me any time (maclean or "mac" ridgeway)(843) 303-6777
I am a real estate broker, but I also wrote the computer code for these searches as well as the rest of the site, and am always looking to improve your experience or find new new ways to share and deliver more information.
Charleston Real Estate Guide.com searh technology
Charleston Real Estate Guide.com also offers the neighborhood search as an api in addition to our standard api (http://www.charlestonrealestateguide.com/free-search.php) using a querry capable xml feed (http://www.charlestonrealestateguide.com/listings2.php) php ajax solution. For a list of the query string variables and or xml schematic, call or email me. I do not have any problem with competing brokers using our technology and even branding it as their own, so if you are in the charleston real estate business or a webmaster/developer for someone who is and would like to look into ways to utilize and or connect with charlestonrealestateguide.com, please don't hesitate to contact me as well.
Best Regards and happy hunting,
Mac Ridgeway
